Just a quick update on the athletics yesterday. We brought 55 students in total and ALL of them were super! We had some outstanding performances especially from our medal winners-
Freya Jones(shot putt)
Zara Quirke(high jump)
Josh Ndome(high jump)
Jayden Lahiffe(high jump)
Vilte Gadisauskaite(discus)
Mervine(discus)
Several students won in their sprint heats but narrowly missed out on medals in the finals including Fayth McQuillan, Leon Kelly, Merlone Ombala, Brian Monlongo, Shauwn Mupfunya, Jose Ukachukwu and the 1st year boys relay team - Merlone, Brandon, Jordan Evans & Joshua Famoriyo.
Tehya Melia came 5th in the long jump and Caitlin Smith 4th in the triple jump. Tiffany Kavanagh and Richard Conlon were impressive in difficult hot conditions to finish their long distance races.
Cian Ashmore who came as a bouncer very nearly won a javelin medal, coming 4th.
Special mention to Josh Kavanagh and Eti who helped out with the running of the long jump & high jump events.
